Ok so I have tried changing my background many times and when I do I still have that tan background that doesn't change!!!! I hate that color and I am so sick of it. So if anyone knows how to get rid of it so I just have a normal background......your help would be greatly appreciated.

Try going to Layout-Fonts and Colors-Page Background Color. Not positive this will work but it's my best guess.

I think I have an idea. Go to layout. underneath layout you will see change my template. You want you template to "minima" once you have your template to miniama I"m pretty sure you can go on and get a different background through like cutest blog on the block or any of the other ones. I hope this helps.
