Lady Bug Turns 3

To go with the Lady Bug theme I made a Lady Bug cake.....with mini lady bug cup cakes. Avery was so excited about this cake. I had told her I was going to make her a lady bug cake earlier that month and every morning she would wake up and ask me "mom are you going to make my lday bug cake today?"

This is my dad. The above picture was at Avery's party. My dad is notorious for getting in a cat nap during parties or other events. He tries to be sneaky about it......which makes it even better. At Avery's party I bought all the kids these little toys that you flip inside out and then they pop up high into air.......maybe you remember them from when you were a kid.....they are pretty fun.....anyway that is what is covering my dad's eyes......so you can't tell he is sleeping....until you hear him snoring:)
This is another party that my dad tried to sneak in a cat nap. This just happened to be my wedding reception. We will never let him live this one down. We were taking family pictures and realized that someone was missing. We searched the area for my dad and found him dead asleep in a nice comfy chair. What can I say....he is a party animal:)

Lady Bug turns 3

Avery turned three in April and we celebrated her birthday in Utah at my brother Jared's house. We had a blast that weekend! My parents came down from Idaho and we had a great gathering for her birthday.

I just have to add that Avery was pretty spoiled but especially by my brothers wife Lizza. She got Avery some makeup and adorable princess shoes. They are the plastic kind with the high heels. Well when Avery opened that gift all the little girls went crazy....they all wanted those shoes so badly....it started a little cat fight between the girls so we had to put the shoes away for awhile. It was really a funny sceene. I wish I would of had a video camera to catch it. Avery opened the box and there were these beautiful pink shoes and instatnly the girls started screeming with delight. Then each girl tried grabing the shoes thinking that the shoes were for them........so funny! I guess it is true, women are suckers for sexy shoes.....I guess it starts in our genes at a young age:)
We had a themed birthday party.....Lady Bugs!!! The girls were decked out with Lady Bug rings and even their fingernails got painted like Lady Bugs.
I made fun little antennas for the kids......they didn't last long.....I think the headband part hurt their heads....but it was funny to see them all looking like little bugs....even if it was for just a minute.

Ok so I have tried changing my background many times and when I do I still have that tan background that doesn't change!!!! I hate that color and I am so sick of it. So if anyone knows how to get rid of it so I just have a normal background......your help would be greatly appreciated.

Boys Already!?

Avery has an imaginary friend. His name is Jake. When we ask her about Jake she gets really embarrassed and wont talk about him but today it was a little different.

Avery: Mom can Jake come play in my room?
Me: Sure
Avery: Mom where is my white dress? I need it because Jake and I are getting married.
Me: Humm I am not sure your daddy will be ok with this. You need to talk this over with your Dad.

Dad gets home....
Avery: Daddy Jake and I are going to get married.....and he is going to eat lunch with us.
Daddy: Avery, Jake is not allowed to marry you.

Avery: (Almost in tears) But Daddy.....I love him and we are getting married!!!!

I could see that neither were going to budge on this one and Avery was starting to get very dramatic about it.

Me: (Over Avery's protests) Avery do you want a Popsicle?
Avery: (Mid sob) Yes!!!!!

So far....food comes before boys......I hope this will last a long time. It would be great when she is a teenager and she is wanting to go steady with a boy that all I would have to say is "Avery want a Popsicle?" .... and she would forget all about boys.)

Birthday Part 1

It was Avery's birthday last Sunday, ya my baby turned 3. I laid in bed that morning and thought....oh my gosh in two years my baby will be in kindergarten....wow. Anyway she got this beanbag chair as one of her presents and all week it has been a hit. She also got the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks," and she has probably already watched it 15 times. As you can see in the picture Morgan's glazed look....I think that was the second time in a row they had watched that movie.

April Showers Bring May......Flower?

So spring in Tetonia Idaho......what can I say........it's uhmmm really beautiful if you like rain or snow. I saw my one little brave flower had bloomed and I just had to give it props for being so brave. This was just the beginning of the snow storm......
I wonder if I am the only person in the world that doesn't like spring. I just don't like the mood swings. It has snowed almost every day this week and yesterday when I got up the sun was up and it looked like it could be a beautiful day. Not long after that Mother Nature changed her mind and decided to bring us....more snow.
Poor little Avery sat in her shorts and T-shirt looking out the window......wondering when she could ride her bike again. She loves her summer clothes.....unfortunately she can't really wear them till June. She went around yesterday in her little shorts and her snow boots. She kept coming up to me yesterday saying..."Mom I am freezing" I told her to go put warm clothes on....like pants, but she refused....she did put a sweater on but she was not changing out of her shorts....oh I take that back she did change into a dress at one time.
