Some of My Favorite Pictures From the Reunion

I also had a great photo of a certain little boy taking a leak by a big tree....pants around his ankles and everything. I decided not to post it....because I didn't want to offend anyone...and you never know what kind of crazies are out there looking at our blog......

Family

Food and Fun!
The marathon runners. Tara had just ran a half marathon only but a few hours ago.

The Erickson Reunion turned out great...even with the lacking of people. Thanks to Tara and Jake and Meagan for putting it on.

Best Aunt and Uncle Award Goes To...

I am not sure who is having more fun Eric or the boys?

It was so nice to have family there to help entertain our kids. They did a great job!

Signs of Good Parenting

At the reunion I walk into the parking lot to get some stuff from the car and I saw this scene. From a distance it had me a little worried...but as I got closer I was relieved to find that the baby....was not dead...or abandoned but that it was just a toy. I guess I was worried because the parking lot is not the best place for a baby in my opinion...the ground is hot and dirty and there is always the possibility of getting run over.:)

The Little Girls

I had to post these cuties because they are pretty close to the same age as well....and you can only imgaine the fun they will have together when they get older.

The Girls

The girls had so much fun playing together. The all are pretty close in age...and the older girls were so good about including the younger ones.

Stick It

Out of all the toys and games there was on object that everyone enjoyed playing with...that was the high tech stick...that's right .....a stick. It is not your regular safety approved toy...but it got the job done. This little guy played with one the whole time we were there. I thought he might get bored after a while but he seemed happily entertained.
Throughout the reunion I noticed he traded his smaller stick in for an upgrade.
His final upgrade. Although he had a hard time picking this one up.
The trend continues.

Erickson Reunion

No wimpy toys for these boys....it's all about the football! I am sure their Dads were very proud!
We had the Erickson Reunion down in Rigby this year and it was a lot of fun to get together and see family we haven't seen in a long time. I think the kids had the most fun. We just played at the park and the kids ran free.

Space Creature

Lately Avery has been following me around the house wearing her dirty clothes hamper on her head. She loves it, it is like being in her own little fort I guess. It kind of reminds me of that movie with the boy in the plastic bubble....you know the one John Travolta played in. Well anyway this just proves that a child can have a room full of expensive toys and find more pleasure playing with .....a stick or in my case a clothes hamper.

Monday

Hey lady is that your kid?

This is the classic Avery face!
along with the licorice smeared all over her face... I had to post this bottom picture because it documents that Avery was actually sitting...she never just sits still but this day was so cold that she sat on my lap...for almost 5 minutes.
So before this post I wrote about some of the silly things Avery has done lately. Here are a few more to add to the list.

She loves going to baseball games and she has gone to allot. She loves to get dirty and play in the dirt and mud. We went to Matt's softball game last week and I was the only person that knew how to take score so Matt volunteered me. I hate taking score because it is impossible to monitor Avery. Well I told her to stay close by and stay out of the puddles....it had been raining all day. Well 5 minutes later a lady said..."uhmmm is that your girl playing in that puddle?" I looked and sure enough she was splashing in every puddle she could find. Oh well I thought and went back to taking score. 10 minutes later..."hey is that your little girl that just did a belly flop in that puddle?" I looked to where they were all pointing and Avery had found the biggest puddle and was trying to swim in it. She was soaked and covered in mud just laughing. She had a blast but I was not so happy because we had another hour and a half till all his games were over. So needless to say in between his games I packed up my soaked child and took her to the car....or more like dragged her...she did not want to leave those puddles. So she sat in the car in diaper sulking because I would not let her play outside anymore.

The last thing that she has been doing that has caused me a few embarrassing moments is she calls random strangers daddy. We will be in public at the store...or Matt's games and she will go up to a stranger and say "Hi Daddy." They kind of just look at her and give her a smile or some will give remarks like "uhmm I think you have me confused...I am not your Dad...well as far as I know I am not." I told Matt that he needs to spend more time with his daughter because apparently she does not know who her daddy is.

Well hopefully I can get her to just say hi or instead of daddy maybe I can get her to say sir...so people will think my kid is just really respectful and not confused:)

Silly Girl

Avery has always been a funny little girl....but lately she has been doing some of the funniest things....sometimes in the moment they are not so funny. I know people probably get sick of us just blogging our kid...but her life is so much more interesting then mine.

Avery has decided to call me a different name. She now calls me Mamie. I think it is a combination of mommy and Amie. She also calls me honey...which really cracks me up.

She is also into dressing up...especially when her cousin Sam comes over. We had a birthday party on Sunday and she kept coming up stairs in the funniest hats and then to top it off she came up in this wig.

Something and not so entertaining...she is very sneaky, I know if she is quiet she must be up to something, like writing all over her walls or on my new couches.

It is almost impossible to take her shopping with me anymore, if she is in the cart she will tear apart the groceries, if she is on the ground she is running around the store. My last trip to Walmart she was in the cart and when I looked away she grabbed the chocolate syrup and dumped it all over my groceries....clothes and all....what a mess! I had to use real self control...how I reacted and how I wanted to react were two opposites....I am very proud about the self control I used and lets just say...Avery lived.
